NRL player shown the door

Manly Sea Eagle Jamil Hopoate has been sacked following his jail sentencing.

Hopoate was jailed for at least 12 months after he assaulted a man outside a hotel on Sydney's northern beaches.

In an attack labeled by Downing Centre Local Court Magistrate Jane Mottley as 'savage and unprovoked', the 20 year old and a group of friends punched and kicked a man outside the Ivanhoe Hotel.

Hopoate plead guilty to two counts of 'assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company' for the attack.
