What We Learnt - Broncos v Titans

1. Jarrod Wallace is unbreakable
Despite the constant injuries in the Titans forward pack, Wallace just keeps on trucking. Last week showed what will happen to Wallace's minutes and scores if the Titans pack remains on the field but that looks very unlikely to happen. You may aswell hold him because he'll end up playing 80 minutes sooner rather than later.

2. The Broncos hate Tautau Moga
Coming off a stellar 51 last week I played Moga against the weak Titans expecting a 30+ score. What I saw appalled me. Every time the ball came left, it got as far as Milford, or Boyd, or Thaiday and that is it. I know I have said this before but Moga could be a keeper at centre if only the guys inside him would give him more ball.

3. Anthony Milford sucks.
I don't know why people insist on picking him for their teams. 'Ben Hunt is out, he'll score more points!'. Just, no! Milford is what every Warriors fan wishes Shaun Johnson was - A complete and utter ball hog. You Milford owners are god damn lucky that Ash Taylor can't catch. Eurgh

4. Kodi Nikorima
Okay, props to those that picked him up. Good score. Nice try. But if you didn't play him in your 17, whats the point? And why on earth would you have him in your 17?! I'll prefer to save my trade and upgrade Lamb to Reynolds (or Pearce) just before Oranges.

5. Keep an eye on
Nathan Peats. He didn't play 80 but he also has 0 match fitness. I look forward to his price dropping as his minutes increase (hopefully) to 80.

Boyd fit for Origin

Injured Bronco Darius Boyd has given both his NRL club side and the Queensland Maroons a boost by stating that he will be fit and ready to go prior to next years State of Origin.

Fronting the media for the first time since the surgery that many believed would sideline him for the entirety of the 2015 season, Boyd has stated that the operation was a huge success and his recovery time has been cut down significantly.

“Some people reckon nine months but I’ll be pushing for a six-month recovery myself,” he said. “I won’t really know for sure until I get up walking and running, but I think six months is realistic.

Boyd was originally expected to be ruled out of any game time in 2015. However, he has stated that a return date of May-June is on the cards, possibly opening himself up for Origin selection.

"The Origin series is definitely still a goal with the time frame I’m looking at,” Boyd told The Courier-Mail.

“Obviously I have to get back on the field and play good football for the Broncos first. But if I got a chance to be back for the Origin period and Mal feels he wants to pick me, I’d be more than happy to put my hand up."

It will be good for Boyd to learn from Broncos team mate Justin Hodges, who, in 2010, ruptured his achilles (the same injury that Boyd has sustained) and missed an entire season.

“I’ve spoken to Ben Hunt (Broncos halfback), it’s happened to him and ‘Hodgo’ has done his achilles twice so both those guys have given me some good advice already.”

When asked who his replacement as Broncos fullback would be, Boyd stated “There’s a lot of options. It’s up to Wayne but Hodgo has been there and done that

“Kodi Nikorima is one of the younger guys and I’ve been impressed with his athleticism at training so it’s nice to know there’s options.”
